Biography

Elena Battelli was born on 18th April 1983 in Pietrasanta (LU) and currently lives in Massa.
In 2005 she joined the Faculty of Conservation of Cultural Heritage at Pisa University when she approached digital photography and painting. Since the very beginning she developed both as a self-learner and analysing the two artistic languages through in depth analysis and comparison.
She started taking shots with a point and shoot digital camera and immediately after she switched to a reflex camera and a set of lens covering all types of shooting. At the same time she experiments with lomography.

Her personal interest focuses on all sorts of images representing streets, city corners, faces, colours, objects and curiosities as well as images that analyse arts such as dance and theatre.

Between 2007 and 2010 she contributed to the organisation of solo and group exhibitions, as a member of FIAF (Federazione Italiana Associazioni Fotografiche – Italian Federation of Photographic Associations) and joined the photographic club “Club K2 Carrara”.
